KTM 690 auxiliary tank kit 2019-23 features and benefits Hey guys I am new to this forum but not new to KTM. I own a 450 EXC and a 2014 690 Enduro. The 690 I bought new in 2014 and have since put 32,500 miles on it. These have been hard miles. I would say 60% back roads commuting at race pace, 15% hard trails, 5% supermoto track time, and 20% 1000 mile+ adventure trips. Very little highway. The KTM 690 Enduro R is also equipped with a set of Brembo disc brakes (300 mm front and 240 mm rear). Hit the jump for more information on the KTM 690 Enduro R. 2013 KTM 690 Enduro R As a happy owner of 701 enduro 2020 doing my first 1000km and recently was comparing it with ktm here are the differences I knew from dealer and noticed: KTM 690 enduro 2020: +700euro, usb charger (!), more onroad tires with "rainy" picture. Nicer saddle, mirrors, rear redlight, nicer plastic with carbonish pieces, blacked handelbar. This can also happen on the highway or when down shifting into a stop sign except the RPMs will drop to 0 and the bike will stall. Other times when accelerating the bike will start chugging dramatically as if it is losing power or running out of gas. Stalling is certainly the most common of these symptoms. The 690 Enduro R is arguably one of the best dual sport motorcycles on the market. Powering the 690 Enduro R is a 693cc liquid cooled, single cylinder engine. This is mated to a 6 speed transmission with quick shifter and hydraulically actuated slipper clutch. The perfect bike would do longer journeys and retain the agility and performance of a lightweight enduro. His goal was a bike that’s much more versatile than a standard 500 EXC, but with better performance off-road than a KTM 690 Enduro R, a bike Kurt could use to explore the vast expanses of Baja. This is how he built it. IMPROVE COMFORT & RANGE So I’ve narrowed it down to the KTM 690 Enduro R, Husqvarna 701 Enduro and the AJP PR7. With the KTM and Husqvarna, I’d look to get the Rade Garage Rally kit with the additional tank under the seat. With the AJP it sounds like I’d need to change the suspension give the Sachs issues. It’s a pukka round-the-globe adventure bike, especially as an Enduro LR (long range) version, which was introduced for 2020 with a 25-litre fuel capacity – with 60mpg easily achievable, that To the OP, I'm surprised you never said anything about the seat; instead you chose to comment on the tank and no saddle bags. I could think of million of other bikes that would tour 100x better than the 690/701.. all of which have MUCH more comfortable saddles, a proper windshield, more fuel capacity, probably a fuel gauge, better instrumentation, probably better engine harmonics, etc The V-Strom would certainly do the job well, but I've owned one, and it's a pretty dull bike. If I were in your position, I would sell the KTM and pick up a used Triumph Tiger 800 XC. It's a better bike in every way than the V-Strom, except for fuel range (it still does well in that regard, the Strom just has exceptional range). fuel recommendations, service periods, tyre recommendations.
